Success Story: Homes for New Beginnings
As a young man, doctors diagnosed Craig with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. When he lost his mother and caretaker to cancer, he became homeless, cycling through short stays at the Salvation Army and living in the woods.
A case manager at Salvation Army eventually told Craig about Pathlight HOME. Craig said, “They started telling me what Pathlight does [for residents]. I wasn’t sure. I was scared…. yet I couldn’t see another choice.”
Craig eventually decided to apply to our housing program and was accepted.
“I’m really so grateful for this apartment. It’s SO much more than I could ever hope for,” he said. “It’s given me a base where I feel comfortable and have a safe place to come home to. I love cleaning my home.”
